Niharika Sahni –granddaughter of Balraj Sahni starts shooting of her forthcoming Punjabi film in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 17: Delhi-based Niharika Sahni – the granddaughter of Silver screen's finest actor Balraj Sahni alongwith her team members has arrived here, in connection with the shooting of her premier Punjabi film `Oh My Piyo’.

She is the producer and director of the forthcoming Punjabi film `Oh My Piyo’ (Oh My Father). She was accompanied among others by another producer and director of the film Rai Yuvraj Singh and project director Amarpal Singh during her interaction with a few media persons here today.

She told that the shooting of the film had already been started at various locations in Ludhiana. She hoped the film would be ready for screening by February end next. She revealed that the film would be a complete comedy in action.

The other artists of the film included Jaswinder Bhalla, Babbal Rai, Veenu Dhillon, Bhanushree, Dakshita and Nirmal Rishi. She hoped the shooting would be completed by October this year.

To a question, she told that she was greatly impressed from the personality of her grandfather Balraj Sahni. This was why she preferred to make her premier film in Punjabi language because her family had a Punjabi background. Moreover, Punjabi films were getting hit these days not only in North India but over a two dozen countries across the world.

She said the dialogues of the film had been written by Manchindra Singh.

On being asked, she said she was not interested in doing acting in the films, however, she liked to work behind the camera.
