"Maharashtra Government’s move to link the height of buildings to the width of roads is a positive development for the future growth of Mumbai city", says Mr.Ashwin Sheth - CMD, Sheth Corp.

This revised policy for transferable development rights (TDR) in Mumbai, which links construction on a plot to width of the road on which it stands, will result in premium FSI for developers. The revised policy could result in a bonus for construction projects fronting existing or sanctioned roads which are over the mentioned limit. In short, the wider the road, more will be the vertical limit for buildings surrounding it, and vice versa.

"Premium FSI will help the city going vertical thus resulting in creation of more housing stock coupled with more stability in the property prices. This move will help in the proper and uniform development of Mumbai and MMR region", added Mr. Sheth.
