New Delhi, June 23, 2014: Haryana Excise and Taxation Commissioner,  Sudhir Rajpal has stressed the need for formation of specific trade wards from 15 to 20 per cent and remaining wards on territorial basis for strengthening the revenue collection system in the State.

Rajpal was presiding over a meeting of officers of Excise and Taxation Department Haryana in Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday. While reviewing the tax collection progress of the State, he said that there is a 10.47 per cent increase in the collection of VAT+CST up to May, 2014 during the current financial year. He appreciated the efforts of the officers of the department for achieving this figure of revenue collection.

He directed to the officers of Excise and Taxation Department Haryana to adopt the comprehensive data base information gathered from various concerned other departments of the State Government for collection of VAT and CST for increasing the revenue in an effective manner. He said that the tax collection data should also be monitored at ward levels.

Rajpal also stressed upon popularising the 'Apna Tax' scheme among the people and it would help in increasing in the tax revenue of the State. He asked the departmental officers to make effective efforts for achieving their annual targets of tax revenue.
