Nauni University scientists shine in International Conference
Three scientists of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni bagged various awards at the recently concluded 9th International Conference on Agriculture, Horticulture and Plant Sciences at Dharamshala. Over 100 scientists from all across the country had participated in the conference. At the conference, Dr KS Pant, Senior Professor of Agroforestry and presently serving at the University’s College of Horticulture and Forestry (COH&F), Neri was selected as the Fellow of the Indian Society of Tropical Agriculture. Dr Pant has worked extensively in developing different agroforestry systems for different agro-climatic zones of Himachal Pradesh. Dr HP Sankhyan, Professor in the Department of Tree Improvement and Genetic Resources, College of Forestry, Nauni also bagged the Outstanding Achievement Award 2019 at the conference. Dr Sankhyan has been engaged in research work on the improvement of tree species including bamboo and Grewia Optiva (beul). In addition, Dr Dushyant Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Tree Improvement and Genetic Resources, COH&F Neri won the Outstanding Scientist Award 2019. The Director Research, Registrar, Deans of all the constituent colleges, scientists and staff congratulated the scientists on bringing laurels to the university.
