National Science day at Zoology Department

Chandigarh, February 28, 2019: National Science Day was celebrated at the Department of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh here today. Dr.Harpreet Kaur, Chairperson emphasized on the need for celebrating of science day to sensitize the students and researchers about the current status of science in India and world. The day was marked by holding various competitionsby the Panjab University Zoological Society. It included Quiz, Poster Making and Photography competition. There were 67 entries in the photography competition, 7 teams participated in poster making competition whereas 18 teams participated in Quiz competition. The event was judged by the senior Professors. The first positions in Quiz, Poster Making and Photography competitions are secured by Mr.Shubam and Ms.ManveerKaur, Ms.Piyush and Ms.Deepti respectively. Dr.ArchanaChauhan, President of the Zoological society apprised that the Science day celebration is part of a number of activities/events carried out by the Zoological society of the Department throughout the year to motivate the students towards science and also bring about their all around development. Around 200undergraduate and postgraduate students,50 research scholars participated in the event
