National Law Fest ‘ARGUENDO’ commences at PU
Chandigarh, January 31, 2019: University Institute of Legal Studies(UILS), Panjab University is organizing the 5th edition of its prestigious National Law Fest ‘ARGUENDO’ commencing from 31st January, 2019- 3rd February, 2019. The event comprises 8th UILS National Client Counseling Competition and 5th All India Gurcharan Singh Tulsi Annual Criminal Law Moot Court Competition, 2019. 5th edition of UILS CARNIVAL 2k19 will also be organized as a part of the Law Fest. 52 teams from all over the country are participating in the National Law Fest. The 5th All India Gurcharan Singh Tulsi Criminal Law Annual Moot Court Competition, 2019 is being conducted under the leadership of Dr. Jaimala, Asst. Prof. Faculty of Law, UILS. It aims to develop trial advocacy skills among law students as well as providing a practical approach to the legal profession. The format of the competition is such that it hones the analytical skills of the students. It further helps them to acquire the expertise in the art of advocacy and enhances the ability to think logically. The UILS National Client Counseling Competition, has had an excellent response to the past 7 successful editions; an event which was a pioneer step and the first of its kind in the entire North India. This year too it will be a part of National UILS Academic Law Fest under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Shruti Bedi, Associate Prof. of Law, UILS. The UILS National Client Counseling Competition would aim to be a platform for promoting greater knowledge and interest among law students in the remedy sorting and counseling functions of law practice. It aims to encourage students to develop interviewing & planning abilities and analytical skills in the lawyer-client relationship in the law office and the corporate structure. An orientation session was conducted today in the Moot Court Hall, UILS under the able guidance of Hon’ble Director of UILS Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh. He motivated the participants to take part in extracurricular activities and wished them all the best for the upcoming competition. Prof. Rattan Singh, Director, UILS, Panjab University has provided the requisite mentorship for the successful organization of this National Event.
