New Delhi, September 10, 2014: Sudarshan Bhagat, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment here today announced that Universal ID to be issued for Persons with Disabilities very soon. Minister further said that after issuing Universal ID for Disabled, all the problems related to transportation, Identification, facilities/schemes for Disabled will be solved. Minister congratulated the 15 awardees who have done great work, achievements of people and organisations in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and presented awards to them.
National Trust a statutory body under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. Of India is working for the welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities has organised its SPANDAN annual award function this year in partnership with NDMC. Minister has also released a bilingual monthly ‘Enabling- Samarthya’ during this occasion.
