Ludhiana, February 6, 2013: Namdhari XI and Sports Authority of India, Lucknow would clash in the first semi-final of 7th All India Jagtar Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament being played at Pirthipal Hockey Stadium.
And Kurukshetra would play against Surjit Hockey Aacdemy, Jalandhar in the second semi-final match on Thursday.
Today in the first match, Gurpreet Singh of Namdhari XI smashed SAI, Bhopal to take his team to a victory of 5-2 scores single-handedly and half time score was 3-1. Gurpreet Singh himself scored 5 field goals.
SAI, Bhopal Affan scored two field goals in 31st and 50th minute of the game. Namdhari XI got two penalty corners in 27th and 61st minute. SAI Bhopal got four penalty corners in 25th, 26th, 31st and 32nd minutes.
In second match, Kurukshetra beat Ludhiana XI by 4-2. In the half time it scored 3-1. From the Kurukshetra team, Naveen Sagwan scored field goal in 20th minute of the game, while Pardeep scored remaining three field goals in 28th, 37th and 60th minute. The Kurukshetra team got three penalty corners.
In the third match, Excellence Patiala and Jai Bharat, Delhi match got drawn (3-3). Half time score was 1-1.
In the fourth match, Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar beat Sports
of India, Lucknow (4-2).
