Musical presentation of Mahakavya Nanakaayan in collaboration with Punjab Kala Parishad

Jalandhar, September 4, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar
in collaboration with Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh organized a musical presentation of Mahakavya Nanakaayan to celebrate the 550th Birth celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr.Surjit Patar, Chairman, Punjab Kala Parishad. Dr.Lakhwinder Johal, General Secretary, Punjab Kala Parishad also accompanied Dr Patar.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi gave a floral welcome to the esteemed guests. Addressing the gathering, Principal averred that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji are immensely relevant in today's times as they contain the universal message of communal harmony, equality & love. She told the students to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji in order to live a pious & honest life.
Dr Surjit Patar in his address to the students explained the various stages of Guru Nanak Dev ji's life mentioned in Nanakaayan. He explained that the author of Nanakaayan Prof. Mohan Singh has very vividly shed a light on the various incidents of Guru Nanak Dev ji's life in his Mahakavya.
On this occasion, famous Sufi singer Devdildaar mesmerized the audience with the musical recitation of Mahakavya Nanakaayan. The PG Department of Music of KMV also gave a musical tribute to Guru Nanak Dev ji by singing a few incidents of Guru Nanak Dev ji's life from Mahakavya Nanakaayan.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the organizing committee for the successful organization of the event.
