Music For Harmony on Mar 6

It’s an event to celebrate the journey of young people who have taken up the cause, brought change and inspired many more young people to join the cause. This year we try to explore the theme “Friendship beyond labels” to understand how we can break barriers of identity, class, caste, gender, race or age. The reason for this specific theme, is a greater need within the society and self to realize the importance of empathy, love and harmony.

Samjho Toh Express - Friendship Beyond Labels:

SamjhoToh Express is an initiative by ComMutiny - The Youth Collective and its forum members to explore cross border friendships and engage young people on the issues of social inclusion in order to build vibrant eco-systems across India to understand each other. The campaign has started in November 2015 and will be aiming to explore cross border friendships beyond labels and stereotypes. The campaign has 21 partners across 14 states(Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Assam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Maharasthra, Manipur, Rajasthan & Nagaland) who will be doing on ground events. Some of these organizations are Agrini, ALFA, Anhad Pravah, Audacious Dreams, Bharat Calling, CAN Youth, CSEI, Inside North East, Kat-Katha, Milaan, People for Change, People for Parity, Prantakatha, Pravah, Pravah Jaipur Initiative, Rubaroo, SAHER, Sauhard, Synergy Sansthan, We are Young Foundation and YES Foundation.

The campaign looks at amplifying, nurturing and evaluating the 5th Space concept and the planned objectives will be promoting young leaders and youth led organizations to engage on issues of social exclusion, enabling a range of stakeholders like youth collectives, civil society groups and media groups to expand and strengthen the concept of 5th space. Also it aims at cultivating cross border friendships through an experiential journey which will help the youth in reflecting and breaking the stereotypes that they hold for other communities, genders, castes, religions, ethnic backgrounds etc. A journey through this campaign will help in internalizing the need to understand the ‘other’. We strongly feel that a space needs to be created where young people can come together leaving behind their identities and make 'friends beyond labels'.
