Municipal Council employees to intensify agitation

Ferozepur, October 17, 2012: The employees of Municipal Council, Ferozepur today demonstrated to register their protest in front of the office for not getting pay for the last three months and condemned the working of the Punjab government.

Addressing the protestors, Ramesh Kumar, Randhir Gupta, Dev Rattan and Partap Singh Dhillon, representatives of various unions said, the employees of the Municipal Council, Ferozepur have not been paid their salary for the last three months and feeling difficulty in running the day today household affairs. 

The employees of Municipal Council condemned the orders of Deputy Director Local Bodies, Ferozepur for depositing the amount of VAT in his office.  They further said, without the availability of funds with the municipal council, how it could be possible to pay the salary to its employees with its meager income

The employees demanded that orders regarding VAT issued by the Deputy Director Local Bodies should immediately be withdrawn besides release of salary and deposit of provident fund in the account of the concerned employees otherwise they will be compelled to intensify their agitation.
