Mumbai team dominates the Fold Fleet Finals with two wins and bags gold

Hyderabad, July 17, 2016: The Deloitte Monsoon Regatta comes to an end. On the final day on Sunday Mumbai team proved their mettle. Despite being the last to qualify in the round robin, Nadar Murugan and crew Kapildev Bahl and Dheer Singhi of Mumbai dominated the Fold Fleet finals with two wins and a third to win the Deloitte Monsoon Regatta Omega National Championships with much room to spare.

The winds were extremely light and fluky and coming from all over the place but we held our positions in the first two races and the third did not matter." said Nadar Murugan of team Bombay

Narendra Babu and crew of the Indian Army come in second after a closely fought battle with the Navy and local lad Rishab Nayar.

At one point it looked like Rishab of team Hyderabad was heading for Silver as he was winning the last race by a handsome margin but Nadar who was second headed for the wrong mark and ended up third and Babu closed in to finish second and gain the silver medal leaving Rishab Nayar to third and the Bronze

Nadar Murugan displayed class and given that he has been National champion many times in the mast and was also coaching the Indian National Squad, Nadar could well have been the top seed but was the dark horse instead given his inexperienced crew.

The top seeded Indian Navy disappointed with a fourth position and Imo Lemnok was heading into all the lull patches to come in with two 4th positions and a 2nd
