Mukesh and Shruthi emerge as winners in TBA’s tenpin bowling tournament 2nd series
Hyderabad, October 22, 2019: TBA (Tenpin Bowling Association)-Telangana conducted its 2nd Series recently at Smaaash, Inorbit Mall.  “I was skeptical about how the second tournament will be received,” says Rahul Reddy, President of Tenpin Bowling Association (Telangana).

TBA, the first bowling community to be formed post the emergence of Telangana, aims to create awareness and promote the sport of bowling in the state of Telangana and has successfully organized first state-ranking tournament in August. The second series has been arranged in October 2019.

“The first tournament was a success and saw good participation, but this time around the number of registrations increased manifolds. It was overwhelming to see such a huge response, including the participation from women,” adds Chaitanya V, Treasurer of Tenpin Bowling Association (Telangana).

The second state-ranking tournament for men and women was conducted in October in collaboration with Tenpin Bowling Federation (India).

The winner in the Men's category (Block game) was Mukesh Chowdary who’s final scores were 427 while the runner up was Ramesh M with a final score of 364

In women's category (Block game), the first prize went to A Shruthi whos final scores were 316 and the runner up title was given to Navya with a final score of 288

In the Single’s game, the highest scorer was Kiran with 248 points and Shruti with a score of 182.

“It was a game of high adrenaline rush. Honestly, when I enrolled for the tournament, I wasn’t fixated with the idea of winning the game, but yes, winning does feel great. I have been a huge fan of bowling ever since I was a child. But I always played it like a game. I am glad that I, now, have a platform to realize my love for bowling as a sustainable career,” said Mukesh Chowdary.

The winners of the tournament received prize money from the title sponsor Lumberman, an interior design studio. Anwesh Dasari, CEO of Lumberman said, “I have personally always been a great fan of bowling. I enjoy the game so much and I am so thrilled that I get to contribute to it, in whichever way I can.”

“We are planning to conduct more tournaments within the city as well so that it is accessible to everybody. One of the observations from these two tournaments have been that new players are participating each time. It clearly shows that Hyderabad is taking well to the game and it’s time the platform becomes accessible to everybody,” informed Rahul Reddy .

One of the participants Naveen Siddam who was also the highest scorer in the Men’s single game in the first tournament has been selected for the 25th Asian Tenpin Bowling championship in Kuwait and he will be representing India at a global level. It’s another feather in TBA(T)’s cap .
