~Mayuri Upadhya's dance school organises auditions at Chandigarh~
Internationally acclaimed choreographer Mayuri Upadhya is organising auditions in six cities across the country to search for fresh talent for the grand musical Mughal-e-Azam through her dance school Nritarutya. The multi-city auditions a first of its kind for a play is a talent search for professional kathak dancers to be a part of the historic play. The auditions will reach Chandigarh on the 21st of May.
Mayuri says “This is one of the golden opportunities through which talented dancers will get to work on their potential and portray their talent to live audiences. My dance school Nritarutya believes in the philosophy of encouraging newer talent and honing their skills. I hope we are able to reach out to as many people through these auditions. This is our humble endeavor to give a window of opportunity to rich talent from different parts of the country.”
Given the accolades Mayuri received during the three seasons of Mughal-e-Azam for her breathtaking choreography, the excitement around the auditions is growing. Mughal-e-Azam The Musical is a stage adaptation of the all time hit film by the same name that has critics and audiences raving.
Apart from Mughal-E-Azam ‘Nritarutya’ hopes to be able to bring in fresh talent into its ranks. The dance academy has made a mark for itself by slowing shaping to be a ‘Gurukul’ for budding talent from across the country.
Mayuri Upadhya also has a strong connect with Bollywood and received appreciation for her choreography in ‘Mirziya’. She has also been associated with many national and international events. She has performed for dignitaries from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Queen of England to the Birlas and Ambanis,
The open auditions will take place in 5 cities. The auditions will start from 19th May and run till 21st May in Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Chandigarh.
