Ludhiana, January 8, 2018: Today MSME State Conclave 2018 held at Hotel Maharaja Regency Ludhiana, organised by National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) supported by Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO). Shri Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, Cabinet Minister, Welfare of SC-BC Punjab was the chief guest.

Shri P.G.S.Rao, Director, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprise GoI was the guest of honor. Shri Rao elaborated the various schemes of MSME and for SC/ST Hub. The Scheme is organically linked to the Public Procurement Policy, 2012 of the Government of India which states that 20% of total procurement of goods & services by Central Ministries, Departments and CPSEs shall be made from MSEs and 20% of such procurement (4% of total) from MSEs shall be made from SC and ST owned MSEs.

Shri Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, discussed currently that the procurement from SC/ST Unit is only 0.22%, and procurement from MSME is 17.40%. Government is working hard to assure that the 4% of total procurement shall be made from SC and ST owned MSEs.

And 20% of total procurement to be made from MSME Sector.

Ten Industrialist were honoured with award of excellence on the occasion for their outstanding performance in their respective fields, out of which four FICO Members are: S. Sukhdial Singh Basant of M/s Rattan Hammers for Machine Tool Industry; Sh. S.S. Bhogal of Bhogal Group for Bicycle Industry; S. Manjinder Singh Sachdeva of Citizen Group for Auto Industry
and S. Manjeet Singh of Kartar Combile for contribution in Agricultural Industry.

S. Gurmeet Singh Kular said that fortunately this conclave held at Ludhiana, and Ludhiana MSME sector should take the initiative and get the maximum out of it.
