Motorcycle lifter gang busted

Ferozepur, September 24, 2012 :  The Ferozepur police claim to have busted a motorcycle lifter gang with the arrest of seven persons and recovery of 18 motorcycles from their possession, with the help of a secret information received by Gurbhej Singh, Inspector, CIA In-charge, Ferozepur.

Giving this information, SSP informed that under the movement started against the anti-social elements, Inspector Gurbhej Singh, after registration of  a case on September 23,  under sections 379, 411, 420 and 401 at Ferozepur City police station, arrested seven persons namely Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakhi, Rajesh Kmar, Sukhdev Singh, Balkar Singh, Hardip Singh alias Deepa, Darshan alias Pappu and Sonu by putting up a ‘naka’ on the Border Road, Ferozepur City and recovered stolen motorcycles. 

During investigation, they have admitted that they had kept the motorcycles in their possession after allegedly lifting from different places and they were moving towards Ferozepur City for its sale, after changing the number plates by saying it as original one. 

On further investigations, three motor cycles were recovered by ASI Pargat Singh from the possession Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakhi resident of Marhiwal (Guruharsahai).  Three more motorcycles were recovered from the accused Darshan alias Pappu resident of Basti Khanuwali near Basti Nizamdin (Sadar Ferozepur) and one vehicle was found in the possession of Sonu resident of Balaki Wala Khuh (Basti Nizamdin), three from Rajesh Kumar of village Mohan Ke Hittar (Guruahrsahai),  two from Balkar Singh of Basti Shekhan Wali (Ferozepur) and two from Hardip Singh alias Deepa of village Sodhewala (Sadar Ferozepur).

In all, 18 motorcycles have been recovered from the seven arrested persons. 

Further investigation will be carried out after getting the police remand and more recoveries are expected from them during the investigation.
