Employee Assistance Program support available to employees in India and 170 other countries
Bangalore, April 12, 2016 – Morneau Shepell Inc. (TSX: MSI), the leading provider of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) in North America and one of the world’s largest, and 1to1Help.net, the leading EAP provider in India, today announced that they have signed a long-term strategic alliance. The two companies have combined forces to provide EAP services to employees of multinational companies, wherever in the world they are situated.

“India has emerged as a major centre of employment for multinational corporations, both those headquartered elsewhere, as well as those based in India that are expanding their operations globally,” said Richard Albert, Vice President, Global Business Development, Morneau Shepell. “Over half of Fortune 500 companies have employees in India, which has become a world leader in business process outsourcing, technology and manufacturing operations. We are thrilled to be partnering with 1to1Help.net, who have been at the forefront of EAP services in India. Through working with our alliance, multinational clients can provide the same level of support to their employees in India as they do elsewhere in the world, enhancing their global value proposition as an employer of choice.”

EAP services are a relatively new employee benefit in India. These programs help employees deal with personal problems that may be negatively affecting their health and well-being, as well as their job performance. Employees, and in some cases their immediate family members, may receive short-term counselling or referrals for help in dealing with their issues. Given the high incidence of depression in India and the high youth suicide rate (please see attached fact sheet), EAP services may be especially important for employees working in this country.

“Morneau Shepell and 1to1Help.net will share best practices and partner closely on service delivery and global account management,” said Anil Bisht, Director, 1to1Help.net. “While our approach will be tailored to meet cultural needs in various countries, our level of support will be consistently high and focused on helping employees regain and maintain good health. This alliance enables our companies to provide world-class EAP services to the rapidly growing array of emerging Indian-headquartered global companies, as well as to foreign domiciled multinational organizations with significant employee populations in India.”
