More than 1700 youth attend & more than 1300 get jobs during job fair at Ludhiana
Ludhiana: Under the “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission” of the Punjab government, four job fairs were being organised by the District Administration in district Ludhiana, in which around 6,000 youths participated. The job fair organised at Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana was held on September 11, in which 1,713 youth participated and 1,356 got employment. A total of 331 youth were selected for self-employment, while 11 were selected for skill training. To ensure that maximum number of youth the state get employment, the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government, under its “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission” is organising job fairs in different parts of the state. In district Ludhiana, a total of five job fairs were organised at Government ITI (Boys), Ludhiana on September 9 and at Jagraon, Khanna and Samrala on September 10, 2019. It is pertinent to mention that the district administration had organised a state-level job fair in ITI (Boys) Gill Road, here on Monday, in which more than 1000 candidates were interviewed by 112 companies in the fair. Today, at Jagraon, 24 companies and 1,734 candidates participated, at Khanna 45 companies and 786 candidates, while at Samrala 30 companies and 700 candidates participated. While speaking to media persons during the job fair at Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, here today, Mamta Ashu, MC Councillor and wife of Cabinet Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, stated that the Punjab government is committed for providing jobs to all unemployed youth of the state. She said that is why, job fairs are being organised in different parts of the state and urged the youth to attend these job fairs in large numbers as several reputable companies are attending them for providing jobs. In this fifth-edition of job fairs, 2.10 lakh jobs will be provided and loans will be offered to more than 1 lakh youths for starting their ventures. This time, job fairs are being organised at 82 different places in the state and the successful candidates of these job fairs would be issued appointment letters by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at Ropar on October 5, 2019. The Punjab government would also be giving 1 lakh government jobs for the youth and till date, more than 8 lakh jobs have already been provided. Mamta Ashu informed that Punjab government would be organising a Mega Job Fair at Ajitgarh (Mohali) on September 18, where the selected candidates would get a minimum salary package of Rs 3 lakh. She informed that at the job fair organised at the Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, here today, majority of the youth (having educational qualification of class twelfth and above) got starting salary packages starting from Rs 15000-20,000 per month. “The companies assured that once the selected youth join their companies, their salaries would be increased as per their skill and experience,” she informed. Prominent among those present on the occasion included SDM Ludhiana (East) Amarjit Singh Bains, Deputy Director District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises Meenakshi Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Honey, Amandeep Singh Lucky, Principal Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Mahinderpal Singh, besides several others.
