Mithibai College honoured with Best College Award by University of Mumbai

Mumbai: SVKM's Mithibai College has been awarded as the'Best College' by the University of Mumbai. The award was ceremoniously conferred by the Vice Chancellor of the University on 26th January 2018 at Kalina, Santa Cruz East.
The University of Mumbai gives this awardfor excellence in the standard of education. A special committee was headed by retired Vice Chancellors appointed by the university to evaluate the applications of various Colleges affiliated to the university. The award by the Mumbai University adds as a special feather to the cap of accolades the college has achieved.
Established in 1961, Mithibai College currently runs 32 departments with 12,000 students, 16 PG courses and 8 research centres. It is envisaged as a destination for the most talented and promising students from across the country. It was awarded 'A+' with a CGPA of 3.57 by the NAAC in 2016. The college has also received grants for various schemes especially DBT Star College and DBT-FIST. The college was recently awarded with SamajikBhanPuraskar by Maharashtra Times.
With India Today ranking MithibaiCollege as 2nd in Science and Commerce and 3rd in Arts faculty, the college is awaiting it's final UGC visit for autonomy.
The Principal Dr.RajpalShripatHande, who was awarded the 'Rotary District Vocational Excellence Award' in January 2018 said "This award is testimony of visionary management, well experienced faculty members, qualified administrative staff, talented students and illustrious alumni of Mithibai College."
