Ludhiana, September 4, 2018: With a motive of providing clean air, food, water and environment to the residents, the Punjab government has started Mission Tandrust Punjab, under which various activities are being carried out by government departments in different parts of Ludhiana district. A review meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, here today, which was attended by heads of different government departments.

During today’s meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed heads of the government departments to provide feedback by September 5, 2018 regarding ways in which people can be benefitted more.

While addressing the meeting, Mr Agrawal said that with the start of this mission, the adulteration of food products has decreased by a large extent, besides a large number of residents have been educated in ways to save our environment. And that is why, a large number of people have been planting tree saplings across the district. He directed the officials to prepare a one-page report of ways in which people can be benefitted more through the Mission Tandrust Punjab and submit it with the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) by 5 pm on September 5, 2018.

He said that on the basis of these reports, further strategy would be chalked out so that a maximum number of people can be benefitted from Mission Tandrust Punjab. He said that the strategy of next three months would also be prepared based on these reports.

While taking a strong notice of the absence of some senior officials related to Mission Tandrust Punjab, Mr Agrawal said that from next time, strict departmental action would be taken against such officials. He asked them to ensure that instead of deputing junior officials to attend such meetings, senior officials should themselves attend the meetings. He urged the officials to make collective efforts so that Mission Tandrust Punjab is successful.

The Deputy Commissioner asked Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal to monitor the progress of Mission Tandrust Punjab on regular basis. He asked the ADC (D) to submit a report of those departments who are either not organising any activities or are organising less activities, by Monday of every week, so that departmental action can be taken against them. A large number of department heads were also present during the meeting.
