Mishap in CMCH, Ludhiana; 4 employees sustain injuries

Ludhiana, September 17, 2016: Today, unfortunately there was a small blast in the premises of Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, in which 4 employees were injured. In this connection, the Medical Superintendent's Office has issued a statement, which reads as under: “Today, 17th September 2016, around 8:45 am, in one of the Operation Theater of Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, an autoclave machine, installed last year, ISI mark and certified, had a malfunction and there was sudden release of hot water and steam. At the moment the exact reason for the malfunctioning of the autoclave is not known and we are trying to find out the cause. Four hospital employees have sustained scald injuries because of steam and hot water splash. All of them are hospitalised, under treatment and are stable.”
