Minor student raped in school, 2 government school teachers arrested

Ludhiana, February 8, 2018: Surjeet Singh, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) addressed the media regarding a new-item appearing in some dailies that two government school teachers are accused of raping student.
He said in this regard a direction has been given to the Station House Officer, Police Station Hathoor, to enquire the matter deeply. For the enquiry of the matter, Sub Inspector Rupinder Kaur alongwith SHO PS Hathur visited the Village Nathowal and recorded the statements of the concerned. Preliminary enquiry has also been conducted from minor girl in the presence of her mother, father and an ex-Sarpanch of Village Nathowal.
Adding, he said the victim was produced before the Duty Magistrate Manmohan Kaushik, Tehsildar, Jagraon in the presence of her mother and Sarpanch. The Duty Magistrate recorded the statement of the victim. The victim stated that she took the admission in 9th class in the school and now she is studying in the 12th class. When she was in the 11th class, in the month of January, 2017, she came in contact with school teacher. The school teacher allegedly made sexual relations with her in the school library. The statement U/S 164 CrPC has been recorded by the duty magistrate and handing over the same to the Sub Inspector Rupinder Kaur.
On the statement recorded U/S 164 CrPC, by the duty magistrate, the offence u/s 376, 120-B IPC 3,4 POCSO (Prevention of Child from sexual offences Act) 3 of SC/ST Act, 67 of IT Act occurred. In this regard an FIR No.37 dated February 8, 2018 U/s 376, 120-B IPC 3, 4 POCSO (Prevention of Child from sexual offences Act) 3 of SC/ST Act, 67 of IT Act has been registered at Police Station Hathur.
Both the accused have been arrested in this case.
