Ludhiana, January 13, 2014: A joint meeting of United Cycle Part Mfrs Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society (LETS) & Chamber of Industrial & Commercial  Undertaking (CICU) was held in the registered office of the UCPMA regarding the unwanted raids by the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in Small Scale Units which are already reeling under economic recession. The Small industry which exists from the last 50-60 years are earning their lively hood and due to Chinese competition these units are going to be near closing.
It was unanimously resented of these raids on the small industry, which is going to increase unemployment for which the industry already facing difficulties in this respect. This small industry is working as an ancillary unit, these units have already become members of JVR or LETS and are giving their outlet to these organisations. If there is any discrepancy found at the time of the inspection by Pollution Control Board officers they should have given time to the unit to remove these discrepancies instead of disconnecting their connections which causes hindrance in the working of the units and unnecessary teasing the units. The Board has already given last date for getting NOC/Consent till January 31, 2014 and any type of action like disconnecting the electric connection is purely unjustified and unwanted.
The main industry that is Dying & Hosiery which are creating problems for the board are not being touched even which shows that the board is hand in glove with these industries.
It was unanimously resolved that the PPCB first of all be requested to stop these unwanted raids on the small scale industries failing which the industry will be constrained to come on the roads as a protest against these raids and office of the pollution Control Board will have to face the ugly situation.// ludhiana news online, ludhiana news in English, ludhiana news, ludhiana current news, ludhiana news live, Ludhiana breaking news, Ludhiana headlines, Ludhiana latest news, punjab news, india news, punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
