Meeting of Ludhiana Unit of State Bank of India Employees' Union (Chandigarh Circle) held

Ludhiana, September 27, 2019: A meeting of Ludhiana Unit of State Bank of India Employees’ Union (Chandigarh Circle) was conducted today to felicitate Com.Naresh Gaur on being unanimously elected as President of All India State Bank of India Association and Com.Parveen Moudgil and Com.Narkesar Rai as Vice President & Secretary respectively at its 3rd National Conference held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from 21st September 2019 to 22nd September 2019.
Com.Naresh Gaur while addressing the meeting, firstly greeted the successful completion of conference. He further informed all to participate and implement the joint call of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) & Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) to observe All India Strike on 22nd October 2019. He said that strike call has been given on various issues and demands like Merger of Banks in name of banking reforms, Ensure recovery of loans, Stop attacks on jobs and job security & adequate recruitment in Banks.
He said that despite the failure of the SBI-Associate Bank merger that has resulted in closure of branches, reduction in manpower and recruitment, restriction in transactions, stipulations of minimum balance, red/weak balance sheets, flight of Customers and Business, Ministry-Managements-Regulators are not realizing the follies of their policies. Concessions and Write-Offs extended to corporate defaulters are sought to be put on the shoulders of the common clientele in the form of penalty charges and increased service charges. In fact mergers are a prelude to privatisation of Banks.
On this occasion various leaders of State Bank of India Employees' Union (Chandigarh Circle) Com. Jagan Nath Makhija. Treasurer, Com. Ashok Malhan, Former Vice President, Com. Rahul Khanna, Regional Secretary, Com. Dharminder Singh, Regional Secretary, Com. Hardeep Singh, CC Member, Com. Amrinder Singh, CC Member, Com. Harmanpreet Singh, CC Member were also present.
