Ludhiana, October 10, 2016: Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana conducted a multi-specaility camp in village Manuke District Ludhiana in collaboration with the Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust on the 8th of October 2016. Medical teams consisted of doctors from gynecology, pediatrics, pathology, psychiatry, dermatology, medicine, ENT , Eye, orthopedics etc.
More than 1350 patients benefitted from the camp where free medicines and diagnosis was available. CMC Hospital Ludhiana and the Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust have been collaborating to provide subsidised high quality health care to the poor for more than three decades.
CMC’s Department of Rural Health & Out Reach Programmes (RHOP) that coordinates camps like these in far- flung and remote villages in Ludhiana and other parts of Punjab . For some doctors the opportunity to bring their skills and services to many who deprived of quality health care and be able to touch lives is a reward in itself.
Dr. Meenu Thomas, from the RHOP department remembered seeing patients who could benefit from the care and services available at CMC Hospital, there were many who were unaware of the conditions or those who did not get adequate treatment for their medical conditions due to financial or other causes. Such Patients were referred to CMC where the camp organisers and CMC would be share a part of the cost of treatment. Free ECG and Blood Sugar tests were also done
Dr. William Bhatti, Medical Superintendent of CMC hospital was also present at the camp said that CMC was providing services to the poorest of the poor through service minded organisation such as Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust.
