Ludhiana, May 18, 2016: The city unit of the Communist Party of India has termed the plan of the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) to spend Rs.12 Crores on decorating the entry points to the city as a shear wastage of money.
Party leaders Com Ramesh Ratta-City Seceretary, Com Gurnam Sidhu- City Assistant Secretary, Dr Arun Mitra, Com D P Maur, Com Kuldeep Binder have said this amounts to making mockery of the poor people and wasting the taxpayers money. Most of the roads in the city are in bad condition, the industrial workers are living in sub human conditions, the vendors have no place to park their rehris, there is no quality healthcare facility for the poor but the corporation officials have no concern for them, they are instead thinking of decoration. First the basic needs of the citizens should be met with and later decoration process should begin. Party will strongly oppose this move of wasting public money.
