MCG Commissioner, Gurugram inaugurates the second ‘Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Centre’
Gurugram: Sh.Yashpal Yadav, MCG Commissioner, inaugurated the second senior citizen rejuvenation centre at Community Centre, DLF Phase 3. After receiving an overwhelming response from the success of first centre, DLF Foundation in a joint initiative with Dignity Foundation, started another Senior citizen rejuvenation centre. The centre is set to conduct recreational activities for senior citizens to help them get out of humdrum of their retired lives and socialize. It will host a plethora of activities like Tai Chi and Yoga, laughter club, spiritual lectures, aerobics, quiz and games, birthday celebrations, panel discussions, hobby and craft classes, festival celebrations, quarterly outings and the like for the recreation and enrichment of elderly people. Activities for the elderly will be organized 5 days a week for 2 hours every evening. Sh. Yashpal Yadav, Commissioner, MCG, said: “I am thankful to DLF Foundation and Dignity Foundation for inviting me. The society we belong to, can never be so disrespectful to our older citizens. Unfortunately, we have come to a phase where we are taking such steps to protect senior citizens. However, I am happy to see if one section of the society has failed to fulfill their duties the other section has taken them more responsibly. All the people sitting in this room have not only taken this initiative but are also motivating others to follow this path and help our senior citizens. I congratulate the foundations for this initiative and will be happy to serve this cause as an individual and as a commissioner of MCG. “ “This is a great initiative and the activities will not only entertain the senior citizens but will help us meet new people. It is a step towards a holistic well-being of senior citizens like us”, said Vijay Chopra, Senior Citizen.
