MC Dharamshala JE arrested red handed for accepting bribe of Rs.1 lakh

Dharamshala, August 29, 2019: Vigilance Department of Himachal Pradesh today arrested Jogindra Singh, JE of Municipal Corporation, Dharamshala for accepting alleged bribe of Rs.1 lakh, on the basis of a complaint.
It was reported several times in the media that the general public is being harassed by the corporation employees for clearing the construction work maps in the Municipal Corporation Dharamshala and the public too have registered many complaints about it. Vigilance have arrested one such employee red handed taking a bribe of one lakh rupees on Thursday. According to the information received, Vigilance arrested JE Jogindra Singh, posted in the corporation, from his office on the basis of a complaint.
According to the information, JE Jogindra Singh had demanded two lakh rupees in lieu of passing the map from a resident Nandini Thapa, who paid the first instalment of Rs.1 lakh to JE and decided to give the remaining one lakh rupees later. Meanwhile, she lodged a complained about it in the Vigilance Department. Vigilance team laid a trap and it was decided to give the remaining one lakh rupees to the Thursday and arrested JE Jogindra Singh red handed taking a bribe of one lakh rupees.
