Seeks details on LED Project

Ludhiana: MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu has shot another letter to the Mayor Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and has demanded details about the LED project, in which the streetlights are being replaced with LED based streetlights by M/S Tata Project Ltd (TPL) company.
She said that majority of the LED lights in the city are lying non-functional, causing inconvenience to the residents. She said that as per the terms and conditions of the contract, the implementation timeline of the project was such that the successful bidder was to supply, install, test and commission the LED luminaries and three-phase CCMS panels within 9 months from the date of award of work, that had ended on May 7, 2019, but sadly the company has still not completed the work.
Mrs Ashu said that she has come to know that the Ludhiana Smart City Ltd as well as Municipal Corporation Ludhiana are now planning to give further extension to TPL till March 31, 2020. She said that any such extension cannot be provided to the company without the approval of the MC General House. She said that only the MC General House can give clearance to the approval, if any, to be granted to TPL, and that too after through discussion.
She has also sought details about the fine imposed on TPL company for the delay in completing this project. She has also sought details of current status of completion of wiring and CCMS tunnels and meter installation for energy saving by the company.
She said that as the city is facing foggy days and the streetlights are lying non-functional, which is causing several problems to the commuters as well as city residents. She warned that if there is any loss of property or life, then the sole responsibility would lie with the officials of Ludhiana Smart City, Municipal Corporation as well as Tata Projects Ltd (TPL).
Perturbed over slow pace of work related to the installation of LED lights in the city, Mrs Mamta Ashu has written a letter to Mayor Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and have sought clarification on some matters related to the installation of LED lights.
