MBA students conduct passenger satisfaction survey for PUNBUS

In a major image building exercise, survey is being conducted across the state at major bus stands of PUNBUS. The authorities have chosen the MBA students of CT Group of Institutions from Jalandhar region to conduct survey for them.

Jalandhar, October 3, 2015: PUNBUS is conducting a passenger satisfaction survey regarding buses and bus stands under its operation. In a major image building exercise, survey is being conducted across the state at major bus stands of PUNBUS. The authorities have chosen the MBA students of CT Group of Institutions from Jalandhar region to conduct survey for them.
Students filled out replies to a structured questionnaire by interviewing commuters at these bus stands. Responses and suggestions of over 2,000 commuters were taken by the students. But on a whole, there will be responses and suggestions of 40,000 commuters will be tabulated and analyzed in this survey for pin pointing the strengths and weaknesses of the organization.
The objective of the survey was comparison of Punjab Roadways with Private Roadways, to improve the bus services of Punjab Roadways and to know the loop holes why people won’t prefer travelling in Punjab Roadways.
Giving information, one of the students those who conducted survey said that the questionnaire contains aspects regarding the safety, reliability, cleanliness and physical condition of buses and services provided at bus stands. There were some questions including information regarding availability of buses, condition of bus stands, behavior of drivers and conductors and the problems faced by the commuters in daily commuting too and to seek suggestions to improve the services being provided.
The compiled report says the following People prefer to travel in the public buses instead of private, Passengers are quite satisfied by the services provided by roadways buses, Not always, but still people can rely on the mode of transport of the roadways than private bus services, Yes, for sure conductors are quite honest and return the change, No action is taken against any one when a person complains and others.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that the results will be analyzed and efforts will be made to strengthen weak areas. These efforts of PUNBUS are a part of its exercise to strengthen its presence and emerge as a consumer friendly and profitable state Transport Undertaking of the State. “We are happy to be part of such a great gesture by PUNBUS to seek healthy suggestions and responses from the general commuters.” S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) appreciated the efforts of students and acknowledged the initiative of PUNBUS in lieu of providing best of the facilities to their passengers.
