Math Mania being organised at Cambridge International School, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, December 3, 2015: To be fearless and to lead from the front is one of the attributes we wish that the students of Cambridge International School should have. Math is one subject that petrifies almost everyone. Therefore to help the students overcome the fear of Mathematics, a unique activity ‘Math Mania’ was organized for the students of Grades I, II and III. They participated in activities like math-e-magic, math supermarket and math-a-run.

The students of Grade I participated in a unique fancy dress competition in which they came dressed up as different digits, calculators, etc. For the students of Grade II, an artificial market was created, wherein they were asked to bring fake currency notes and different things of common use like a pencil, a notebook, an eraser, etc. The students enjoyed buying these things in a simulated environment. This activity helped the students understand the concept of money in a better way. The students of Grade III had great fun while participating in obstacle race. They had to run, solve a mathematical problem on their way and then reach the finishing line. This was a unique combination to ascertain their physical fitness and problem solving ability. All the children participated with great zeal and made this activity a success.

Chairman Mr Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Mr Deepak Bhatia, Directors Learning Wings Dr Brijesh and Mr Nitin Kohli, Director CIS Mr J K Kohli, Academic Director Ms Deepa Dogra, Principal Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon and Coordinators Ms Harleen Rehal and Ms Jyoti Puri appreciated the efforts of the children and the teachers.
