Martyr Jagsir Singh’s body brought to native village today

DC, Ferozepur Ramvir sharing grief with the family members of Jagsir at his native Village on Monday.

Ferozepur, January 01, 2018: Martyr Jagsir Singh kept his promise which he had made with his seven years old daughter Nigamjit Kaur. Sepoy Jagsir Singh, of 19 Punjab Regiment had promised his daughter that he will return home on or before 2nd January. Jagsir kept his promise. His body was brought to his native village today.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jagsir attained martyrdom during early hours yesterday following the Pakistani forces resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Subedar Swarn Singh, who brought the body of Jagsir from valley, said that no doubt Jagsir was a very brave soldier and everyone should be proud of him. “He was grievously injured but still he kept encouraging the other soldiers”, said Subedar Swarn Singh.

FAMILY WAS PLANNING TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR WITH JAGSIR
Excited about the “home coming” Jagsir, Amarjit Singh, the father of martyr Jagsir Singh had brought fresh vegetables from the fields. He was thinking to celebrate the New Year with his son as soon as he comes back but destiny had something else in store. “Main tan soch riha si ke dono piu putt beth ke saag te makki di roti khawange par eh jo hoya kade nhi si sochya (I was planning to have Sarson Ka Saag and Makki di roti with my son but destiny had some other plans), said Amarjit Singh.
Though, his eyes are wet but still Amarjit Singh is a proud man. “I am proud that my son made prime sacrifice for his Nation. We are all proud of him”, said Amarjit.
Jagsir’s brother Jasbir, who is presently staying in Dubai, has also come back to hear the sad news.
Malkit Singh, Sarpanch of the Village Lohgargh Thakran Wala said Jagsir was an affable person. “He used to have fun with the children and used to touch feet of all the elders of the Village”, said Malkit Singh.
Today, a battery of senior officials including Ramvir, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, B. S. Rajpurohit, DIG, BSF, Ferozepur Sector, Bhupinder Singh, SSP, Ferozepur, Harjit Singh, SDM, Ferozepur reached Village Lohgarh Thakran Wala and express sympathy with the family members of Jagsir.
