Marginal reduction in Petrol and Diesel price only an election gimmick: CPI

Ludhiana, October 5, 2018: The Communist Party of India has demanded that the Modi government should accept offer of Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan and hold talks to open Kartapur Langha. This will allow people to visit holy shrine and will help in improving relations between the two countries. Both the countries are spending huge amount on arms at the cost of development. The government should not use the anti-Pakistan rhetoric for narrow electoral gains and push the region into further deprivation. The party also termed marginal reduction in the price of petrol and diesel a mere election gimmick. When the price of crude oil come down in the international market, the government did not reduce the price of petrol and diesel, this has already burdened the people extremely adversely. Those who issued the statement include Com D P Maur, Dr Arun Mitra, Chamkaur Singh, M S Bhatia, Ramesh Rattan and Gurnam Sidhu.
