Manipur Farmers Visit Pau To Attend Training Course

Ludhiana, April 4, 2016: A 22-member delegation of farmers from Manipur visited the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to attend the training course on “Production and Post-Harvest Management of Fruits.”

While interacting with the visiting farmers, Dr T.S. Riar, Professor of Extension Education, highlighted the role of PAU in agricultural development. He said that farmers from various states have been coming to PAU to learn about research and extension activities of this University. Dr Riar lauded the efforts of Government of India in organizing the interaction of different state farmers.

The PAU experts namely Dr J.S. Brar, Dr Ruma Devi, Dr BVC Mahajan and Dr Mahinder Kaur educated the trainees about the cultivation and post-harvest management of fruits and vegetables. The trainees visited University Vegetable Farm, New Orchard, Soil Water Engineering Research Farm, Mushroom Unit, Beekeeping Unit, Crops Museum, Plant Clinic, Water Resources Museum and also saw biogas plant for gaining practical know-how, he added.
