34 teams from the schools across the Tri-City participated in the contest

Mohali, December 14, 2017: Swaraj Tractors, a part of the US $19 billion Mahindra Group, today conducted the Regional Jet Toy and Skimmer Olympics, under AWIM, SAE India program, at Chitkara International School.

The team from Saupin’s Schools, Chandigarh bagged the 1st position in Jet Toy while Chitkara International School’s team lifted the Winner’s trophy for the Skimmer Challenge. The teams from Government Senior Secondary School, Sarangpur and Government Model High School, Mani Majra were adjudged Runners Up in Jet Toy and Skimmer, respectively. The winners were awarded by Mr Parmod Lamba VP- ER & CSR, Swaraj Division.

The jury consisted of four members Mr Rohit Kalia from Sourcing, Mr Pardeep Singh from Infotech and Mr Jasjit Sohal from R &D - all of them being part of the senior management team in Swaraj & Ms Rupinder Bir Kaur, Associate Prof UBS, PU being the external jury member. The jury played a crucial role in this tough competition.

The AWIM programme intends to build a passionate cadre of science students through an early intervention, right from fifth standard. The winning teams will represent the Tri-City at the National Olympics scheduled to be held in Pune, in January 2018.
