Lyallpur Khalsa College wins Overall Cultural Trophy of GNDU

Jalandhar, October 30, 2014: Today was a big day for Lyallpur Khalsa College when it registered its maiden victory of overall interzonal cultural trophy 2014 of Guru Nanak Dev University youth festival at Amritsar. The College claimed the overall trophy by scoring 126 points, first positions in Bhangra, Group Song, Mime, Group Shabad, Vaar Singing, Cartooning, Poster Making, Collage, Clay Modelling Installation, Rangoli, Gazal, One Act Play, Skit, Classical Vocal, Western Group Song  second positions in Kavishri, Painting, Photography, Geet, Group Dance, Elocution, and  third positions in Debate. Prior to this, the college had won overall zonal trophy as well.

The trophy was awarded to the College Principal Dr. G.S. Samra at Amritsar who along with college ECA Dean Dr. Rashpal Sandhu, Director Cultural Affairs, Dr. Arun Misra, senior teachers and an ecstatic ECA team received it from the Vice Chancellor Dr. A.S. Brar. On the concluding day the college won first positions in 17, second positions in 6 and third position in 1. On the occasion Paras Oberoi and Priya Rajwansh of the College were declared best actor and second best actress respectively.

Speaking to the press the College principal Dr. Samra said the college was already holding University Overall Sports championship and winning the overall Cultural trophy reflected its excellence in all the arenas. He attributed the achievements to the efforts of the ECA team of the College. 

The president College Governing Council Balbir Kaur congratulated the College staff and students on the achievement.
