Lyallpur Khalsa College continues its rich vein of form in field of research activities by establishing Oil Distillation Unit

Jalandhar, December 27, 2017: Lyallpur Khalsa College has continued its rich vein of form in the field of research activities by establishing an Oil Distillation Unit in the Department of Biotechnology under the DST-DBT Project, Government of India. This unit was inaugurated by Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council and College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. Speaking on the occasion, Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council expressed her delight on the latest accomplishment by the college and hoped such steps forward would continue to pave the way for further ground breaking moments in the years to come. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra informed that the college is the first educational institute in the entire state to put up such a project in its campus. He added that the installation of this unit would help distill oil from various plants and would also be a great learning curve for the students imparting them practical knowledge. Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Head, Department of Biotechnology thanked Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra for their continuous support that led to the installation of this unit which would also be of great help to ailments such as Cold, Joint problems, Cough, Breathing difficulties and the by products of this unit would also help in prevention of problems such as hair fall and dandruff. Prof. Prabh Dyal, Dr Balwinder Singh Chahal, HOD, Physics, Prof. Rachpal Singh Sandhu HOD Commerce, Prof. JS Rana were also present on the occasion along with the staff of Biotechnology Department namely Prof. Gobind Ram, Prof. Inderjit Kaur, Prof. Vijeyta, Prof. Shubhneet and Prof. Navjot Kaur.
