A delegation of Knitwear Club, Ludhiana meets the high officials of Department of Excise and Taxation, Punjab.

Ludhiana, August 13, 2013: A delegation of Knitwear Club, Ludhiana led by its, President Darshan Dawar and general secretary Narinder Miglani attended a meeting with the authorities of Excise & Taxation Department on Monday. Prominent among the high officials of the department included Joint Excise & Taxation Commissioner, DETC Rishi Pal, AETCs H.S Ghotra, Tejvir Sidhu, Bhupinder Gupta and Jaskaran Brar.

The meeting was called at the directive of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Anurag Verma Commissioner Excise & Taxation Punjab, said the Club’s president and general secretary. They added the purpose of holding this meeting was to arrive at lump sum tax on the Knitwear/Textile goods sent to the railway station for onward designations.

Further, they said the authorities concerned fixed the lump sum rates as under: Rate per carton of goods (Rs.1500), rate per big bag (Rs.2500) and rate of small bags will be at par with that of peti.

The receipt for the tax will be collected from the railway station and the same will be fixed on the peti or bag, they said, adding the representatives of the Hosiery Industry who formed part of the delegation included Luxmi Gupta, Ashok Popley, Ravinder Vasan, Kewal Bhudhiraja, Mohinder Dang, Ashmani Chawla, Subhash Dang, Naveen Sood and Suresh Dhir Raja.

The delegation thanked the authorities for the unanimous decision taken on a long outstanding issue.
