Ludhiana, August 4, 2015: Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival, Ludhiana Zone-B, is going to be held in September and to make preparations for the same, a meeting of the principals and representatives of the concerned eleven colleges was organized at Ramgarhia Girls College. Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University Chd, addressed the principals and discussed the required arrangements that need to be made for the festival. He also apprised them of the eleven new items, namely, Heritage Quiz, Guddian Patole Making, Chikku Making, Pranda Making, Naala Making, Tokri Making, Mitti De Khidaune, Khiddo Making, Peerhi Making, Rassa Vattna and Eennu Making, which have been included in order to promote the rich heritage of Punjab. The Principal of Ramgarhia Girls College, Dr (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu, said that bearing in mind the pace at which the world around us is changing, it becomes pertinent to foster a sense of cultural awareness among the youth of Punjab. The new items introduced by the department will help in achieving the same objective. She further added that the college prides itself on organising ten youth festivals at zonal level and three at inter-zonal level and even this year, the college fraternity will leave no stone unturned in making the Youth Festival of Zone-B a success. The festival will be held from 22 to 25 Sept. 2015.
