Ludhiana will be towards smart city tag only with operation of big airport: Ar.Sanjay Goel
Ludhiana, October 9, 2018: Ludhiana Smart City Ltd (LSCL) Director Ar.Sanjay Goel has reacted positively on the media reports that the Centre has approved setting up of an international airport at Halwara, near here.
Speaking to City Air News here on Tuesday, he told that the proposed move would be very useful not only for Ludhianvis but for all Punjabis.
“Better late than never, Halwara airport was already there like many other defence airports in country being used for civilians”, he said, adding that there was no need of Sahnewal Airport if government had taken Halwara Airport decision in time.
Adding, he said already Ludhiana was more than 15 years behind schedule regarding requirement of airport.
“Ludhiana will be towards smart city tag only with operation of big airport”, he pointed out.
He said this industrial city immediately need proper big airport to expand business and investments.
it may be recalled here that on August 14, during his interaction with industrialists of the city, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had announced that flights for civilians would be started from the Halwara Air Force station as the Central Government had given its nod for the same.
