Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam (LSS) to organise two live performances on April 15

Ludhiana, April 9, 2018: At Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam (LSS), we’ve always derived satisfaction in bringing great shows; and on April 15, at 7:30 pm, we’ve lined up two live performances at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana, said Amrit Nagpal, Vice President, LSS.
The first, Raagas on Tabla, is a unique symphony on tabla. Conceptualized by Durga Jasraj, daughter of Pandit Jasraj and composed by Kedar Pandit, this performance has enthralled audiences across many cities. Raagas on Tabla will also feature Charudutta Phadke, Rohit Majumdar, Sukhad Munde, Ajay Atre, Kedar Paranjee, Nilesh Randive and Saurabh Vartak.
Music’s beauty lies in its ability to blend with the times and find space for improvisation even as it stays anchored within a core structure; the Jasraj family has mastered these principles for over four decades.
The concept is that entire music comprises of Sur and Laya, for first time ever in the history of Indian Music. LSS will present Raagas on Tabla, which complimented the basic nature of Tabla without any support of electronic sound.
The second program, Colours of Classical Music—will feature performances by folk singer and Padma Shri winner Malini Awasti, who’s carved a niche for herself through her high-powered renderings of Awadhi folk, thumri, dadra and semi- classical genres. Malini Awasthi has performed for television and live concerts around the world.
Electrifying live performance by Malini Awasti; needs no introduction, she is India’s “Reshma” You have seen her singing in many movies like Bumm Bumm Bhole, Agent Vinod, Dum Laga Ke Haisha etc.. She is duo of Indian folk and belongs to distinguish family and art combination of brain, beauty and music. She is wife of very senior IAS officer of the country but she has never used that influence to progress her career. She sings in Hindi language dialects like Awadhi, Bundelkhandi and Bhojpuri. She also presents in Thumri and Kajri. The Government of India awarded her the civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2016.
This will be the 107th programme of LSS. The programme is co-sponsored by Rockman Industries Limited, Shreyans Industries Limited, BAUM Shiv Forgings, Vardhman Threads and Eastman Cast & Forge Limited.
