Ludhiana (Rural) police register 77 NDPS Cases; made huge recoveries with arrest of 70 persons

Ludhiana, April 13, 2017: After taking over as Sr.Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana (Rural) on March 17 this year, Sh.Surjeet Singh, launched a special campaign against drug trafficking and gained a huge success by nabbing drug paddlers in the district.
According to an official press release issued today, since March 17, 2017 till date (within 26 days), a total of 77 NDPS Cases have been registered and total of 70 persons arrested from whom following quantity of Poppy Husk, Heroine, Ganja and intoxicating powder recovered. In these cases, few persons are still absconding and continuous police raids are being conducted to arrest them.
In this regard, during Special campaign against drug trafficking, a total of 09 NDPS Cases have been registered in various Police Stations on April 12, 2017 and 10 persons have been arrested from whom 60 Kg Poppy Husk, 01 Kg, 185 gm intoxicating powder, 150 Pills and 50 gm Opium recovered.
Apart from above, special campaign against drug paddlers lead to healthy results when these drug paddlers presented affidavit in village Malsian Bajan and Kul Gehna in presence of Village Panchayat that they will never involve themselves for selling of drugs in future .
