Ludhiana, November 6, 2017: As per direction of Sh.Surjeet Singh, IPS, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and under the guidance of Sh.Rupinder Kumar PPS, SP (Inv) and Sh.Satnam Singh PPS, DSP (Inv), a police party headed by Inspector Inderjit Singh, SHO Jagraon City police station received a secret information on November 5 that 5 suspected members of a robbers gang equipped with dangerous weapons have been planning a robbery at an isolated place near drain bridge on the outskirts of Kothe Khajooran village and if immediate raid is conducted then they can be nabbed.
Following the information, the police team led by Inspector Inderjit Singh carried out a raid at the said place and arrested Jaskirat Singh alias Peter s/o Shamsher Singh of village Lakha, Ankit Sharma s/o Om Parkash of village Daughar in Moga district and presently living at Agwar Ladhari area of Jagraon, Kuldip Singh s/o Satpal Singh of Jeewan Basti Jagraon, Kamal Singh alias Bobby s/o Amar Singh of Jiwan Nagar, Kacha Malak Road Jagraon. The fifth unidentified member of the gang managed to escape from the police.

The police have recovered 2 country made pistols along with 2 live cartridges, 2 motorcycles, one sword, 1 Dah (sharp edged weapon), 22 thousand rupees cash along with a Golak of a religious places and 400 gram intoxicating powder from the accused.
The police have registered a case under sections 399, 402 of IPC and 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act at Jagraon City police station and further investigation is on. Besides, the police also registered a case under section 22,61,85 of NDPS at Jagraon City police station and 212, 216 of IPC and 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act against Jaskirat Singh alias Peter at Hathur police station. Against Ankit Sharma the police have registered a case under section 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act at Jagraon city police station.
According to SSP IPS Sh. Surjit Singh, during the preliminary interrogation the accused confessed that their prime target of looting used to be religious places from where they used to steal golaks. The accused have also confessed six other looting and snatching incidents including stealing 40 thousand cash from shop of Rajesh Goel of Jagraon, stealing a camera and RAM from the shop of a Jagraon based photographer, snatching of gold earrings of a woman, looting of a golak from a Mandir (temple) from Basti Jodhewal in Ludhiana, looting 13 thousand rupees from a persona named lovely and theft of a computer, UPS and batteries from a shop.
The police claimed that Jaskirat Singh alias Peter is a close aid of notorious gangster Gagandeep Singh alias Gagna Hathur who is wanted to police in many criminal cases. Apart from providing shelter to Gagandeep Singh alias Gangna Hathur, Jaskirat Singh also arranged vehicles for him and also provided financial help to him, informed the SSP.
