Ludhiana News/Steelovation – A Knowledge Sharing Industry Meet On Sheet Metal Forming and Welding by Tata Steel

Ludhiana, December 19, 2013: Steelovation - a Technical Knowledge Sharing Industry Meet for latest trends in sheet metal processing was held on Wednesday at Chamber for Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana.

The meet was coordinated and hosted by Tata Steel along with its Channel Partner Sangeeta Steel Corporation.

Harshender Garg, Senior Manager, Sales (Retail)-Tata Steel in his welcome speech gave a brief introduction on Tata Steel and the different customer engagement programs conducted by the company under the LINKS initiative for Learning, Interaction, Networking & Knowledge Sharing.

Vivek Vardhan, Manager-PAG, Tata Steel, representing the Product Application Group of Tata Steel gave a detailed presentation on Sheet Metal Forming explaining the process of steel manufacturing at the company’s Steel Plant at Jamshedpur as well as the relevance of the chemical and mechanical properties for different operations and applications.

Dr Kanwer Singh Arora, Researcher, Tata Steel, representing the R&D Group at Tata Steel explained the basics of welding on sheet metal and suggested various solutions to common issues faced by customers.

Various queries were answered during the interactive open house session with respect to the problems and development of end application products by customers.
