Ludhiana News/Kids celebrate Children’s Day by paying tribute to Sachin

Ludhiana, November 14, 2013: Celebrating Children’s day today, Hyatt Regency joined hands with Rotary Club to make this day a joyous and special one for the underprivileged students of Senior Secondary Government School, Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana.
About 100 students from the school were present to pay tribute to the living legend of Indian Cricket - Sachin Tendulkar on his farewell series and celebrated his glorious cricket career. Hyatt Regency’s team prepared special snacks at the venue for children and a cricket match was organised to celebrate the Children’s Day and honour Sachin.
Speaking on the occasion, Glenn Peat - GM, Hyatt Regency Ludhiana, said that “Sachin is one of the greatest sportspersons India has ever produced and we wanted to take this opportunity to give our farewell in a special way by celebrating the children’s day and bringing joy in the lives of these underprivileged kids. Hyatt has always been associated with providing support to the community and we endeavour to carry this forward In Ludhiana.”
Alka Gupta, Secretary of Innerwheel Ludhiana Midtown (Innerwheel Ludhiana is the women wing of Rotary Club, Ludhiana) said “We are glad that Hyatt has taken this initiative and the members of club and school are happy to join hands with them and bring smile on the face of students on Children’s Day. We also took this occasion to spread awareness amongst city residents against child labour by organising a rally and want these less fortunate children to spend these tender years learning and playing like other kids.”
