Ludhiana News/Darshan Dawar to take two issues before Deputy CM

Ludhiana, November 14, 2013: Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal is visiting Ludhiana to deliberate upon the difficulties being faced by the industry.

Darshan Dawar, President, Knitwear Club, Ludhiana will represent Knitwear/Textile/Hosiery Industry to place before Sukhbir Singh Badal the difficulties being faced by the industry. The specific issues to be highlighted include difficulties being faced in getting extension/sanction of electric connections for knitwear industry.

Majority of hosiery units operating at Ludhiana have marginal resources. Such units wash their hosiery products with non-ionic substance which is not a chemical detergent and is used for domestic cleaning of clothing. The pollution board officials ask to establish a water treatment plant.  The marginal units are neither having resources nor place to establish water treatment plant and face the risk of closure.

“Both the issues will be prominently highlighted to explore remedial measures for the benefit of knitwear/textile industry”, said Dawar.
