Ludhiana district administration to organise “shanti march” on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
Ludhiana, September 30, 2019: On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the District Administration would be organising “Shanti March” from Guru Nanak Stadium to Rose Garden, here, on October 2.
While chairing a review meeting in this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu informed that to make the masses aware about the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, the state government has decided to organise “Shanti March” on the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2019. He informed that in district Ludhiana, the “Shanti March” would start from Guru Nanak Stadium and culminate at Rose Garden, here.
He directed all the concerned officials to ensure maximum participation by residents of district Ludhiana for this event so that the message of peace and communal harmony is spread. He also appealed to the residents to participate in this “Shanti March” in large numbers.
During the meeting, Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu directed the District Education Officer to ensure maximum participation of students from schools and colleges so that the students can also learn about the teachings of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. He also directed the District Sports Officer to assist the district administration for success of this event. He also directed officials of all government departments of district to participate in the “Shanti March” on October 2, 2019. He informed that the DDLG office would be responsible for checking the attendance of all government departments.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included District Sports Officer Ravinder Singh, besides several others.
