LUDHIANA DC GETS HIS DAUGHTER VACCINATED ON FIRST DAY OF MEASLES-RUBELLA CAMPAIGN

EXHORTS PEOPLE TO BEWARE OF RUMOURS

LUDHIANA, May 1, 2018: Appealing the people to not to fall prey any rumours which are intended to the create problems in our war against measles and rubella, the deputy commissioner (DC) Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Tuesday came forward and got his daughter Diya Agrawal vaccinated on the first day of the campaign.

Under Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign, all children from ages nine months to 15 years will be vaccinated with the measles-rubella vaccine. Some rumours and fake alerts are being spread on social media against the vaccine.

DC personally called the health department and asked them to vaccinate his daughter. DC told that this campaign is aimed to eradicate the virus of this fatal disease, which could be very dangerous for the children and exhorted the people to give their fulsome support to make the campaign a huge success.

On the occasion, DC's wife Sanyogita Agrawal was also present.

It is pertinent to mention that 201 health teams covered 29594 children on the first day of the drive.
