LUDHIANA CRICKETER NEHAL WADHERA TO CAPTAIN INDIA “A” U-19 CRICKET TEAM
Ludhiana, February 12, 2019: Ludhiana cricketer Nehal Wadhera has been selected to captain the India “A” U-19 Indian squad for one-day matches in the upcoming series to be played against South Africa, Afghanistan and India “B”. Nehal’s father Kamal Wadhera, who runs TCY & BetterThink group of institutes, informed that this series would be starting from March 5, 2019 onwards from Thiruvananthapuram. Young top order left handed batsman from Sarabha Nagar area of city had also participated in the U-19 tour of Sri Lanka in July 2018, where he had stunned everyone by scoring two half centuries. In the first test match against Sri Lanka, Nehal scored a brilliant 82 and interestingly, he started his international career by hitting a six. In the second test match, he had scored 64 runs. Similarly, he was part of the U-19 team for Asia Cup held at Dhaka (Bangladesh) in September 2018. It is believed that Nehal’s performance in the Challengers Trophy matches played at Lucknow few months back, helped him in donning the captain’s hat for the upcoming series. “Otherwise known as a very cool and composed scorer, he played a pivotal role in India Green picking the Challenger’s trophy at Lucknow. His mother Gurpreet Wadhera, a former professor, said, “His world has always revolved around sports, particularly cricket. His consistency is his strength. Not even a single day goes in his life when he’s not trying to improve a little.”
