Ludhiana Breaking News- Union Minister for MSME Giriraj Singh visited Dairy & Agro show

Jagraon/Ludhiana, Dec 7, 2014 - The second day of the most visited International Dairy and Agri witnessed the farmers full of excitement to gain knowledge about new techniques to optimally use their resources for better yield. The farmers also tried new equipments for their farms.
Giriraj Singh, Union Minister, MSME visited the Dairy & Agro show and also interacted with the farmers. Speaking on the occasion he said, ”We congratulate PDFA as they are contributing a lot to the Punjab’s Agri economy through Dairy farming. We need to focus further on the agriculture as about 70% of Punjab’s economy is dependent on agriculture. Punjab’s water table level and soil fertility is degrading at alarming levels due to cultivation of paddy and wheat. Dairy farming is providing another option to the farmers of state.“ Giriraj Singh, Union Minister, MSME  and Daljit Singh, President, PDFA also felicitated 5 dairy farmers for their contribution to the dairy industry.
In its ninth edition, PDFA keeps the focus on the promotion of entrepreneurship in dairy farming and agriculture among young and progressive farmers. In this show, different competitions like, Milking competition, Breeding competitions, Technical seminars are organized along with Exhibition on Animal Husbandry, Breeding, Production, Nutrition, Product technology, Health Management and Disease control in dairy animals and Dairy Equipment. Young farmers who have showed extraordinary performance in farming will be felicitated at the event. Over 150 companies showcased their product range to the customers during the Expo. Cargill and New Holland are the platinum sponsors for the Expo. Other prominent names to participate are Pfizer, Sonalika, Delaval, Escorts, Claas, PDS, Olmix, Cidlines and Gea amongst others.
PDFA International Dairy and Agri Expo plays a pivotal role in the transfer of technologies to the end users. It also provides a forum to the farmers to interact with the experts in the domain and get their queries answered. It also throws light on the development and opportunities in Dairy farming, agriculture and allied sectors in the domestic and international arena.
